Good afternoon ECP! Below is a link to an important letter. Our school district is experiencing several positive cases of Covid-19 which is affecting many students by sending them to quarantine. Administrators will be providing students and families with their new schedule before we go on break. The elementary campus will continue with normal schedules, but all elementary students will be required to have a face covering or mask when they return in-person on December 1, 2020. Please read the letter attached for more detailed information. If you have any questions then please contact the appropriate administrator. https://bit.ly/2IIzJa4

They were exposed last week and became postive this week. I have been in quarantine with them since they tested positive. Wednesday, I began having symptoms and was tested. I failed the rapid test but took another test thatt was sent to the lab. Today those results came back positive. I ask everyone to please follow guidelines and wear masks, social distance, wash hands often and if you are not feeling well then please stay home and take precautions. Also, following quarantine guidelines are very important to stop the spread. Thank you for your patience during this difficult year. Have a great weekend. - Sheila Riddle

ECP Return to Learn ECP would like to begin by saying thank you to both parents and students this school year. The unexpected, unprecedented pandemic brought with it many challenges for schools across the nation. Distance learning in April and May required a team effort between our teachers, staff and families. We are proud of the work that we accomplished together during that time. Like many other districts across the nation, we are hopeful and optimistic that students, teachers and staff members will be able to safely return to classrooms in the fall. However, it will be extremely important for our district to evaluate the situation and begin to make plans for ECP’s return to learn. Over the next weeks, ECP will begin to develop a committee to review over the Oklahoma State Department’s Return to Learn guidelines. Our committee will develop a plan that will align with the Return to Learn guidelines from OSDE that will prioritize the safety and well being of all stakeholders while creating the best situation for ECP to return to classrooms. Please be patient as we will release more information at a later date.

Important!!! We have just been made aware of guidelines from the Oklahoma Secretary of State and Education that allow for graduation ceremonies to take place starting June 1st. Because of this and our desire to include all of our students in the graduation ceremonies, we are moving our commencement from July 24 to Monday, June 1st at 8:30 PM at Wheeler Field. In case of inclement weather, we will use June 2nd as a backup date. Please understand that all members of the senior class will be given a limited number of tickets to the event and that the district will be utilizing social distancing guidelines appropriate to the current situation. We will be surveying the Senior Class to help us determine the number of tickets available We will be closely monitoring guidance from local, state, and federal authorities and medical officials regarding the coronavirus/Covid-19 situation. If we believe that we cannot safely hold our ceremonies on June 1, we will then utilize the July 24 date we had previously announced. If you have any questions, please contact me at the high school phone number, 580-788-2565 between the hours of 10:00 AM-1:00 PM Monday thru Thursday starting Thursday, May 7. -- Greg Willis High School Principal Athletic Director Elmore City-Pernell High School "Let's make ECP the BEST it can BE!!!"

Mr.Sadler served as the principal at Elmore City-Pernell High School for 9 years and had a positive, guiding impact on countless lives. Our students, district, and community owe him and his family a considerable debt of gratitude for his outstanding service. Mr. Sadler was more than an educator, he was a husband, father, and "Poppa", too. Please keep his family in your prayers as they endure this most difficult and trying season of life.

A weapon was found inside a student's vehicle on the high school campus earlier this morning. Law enforcement was contacted immediately and the student was taken off campus to further investigate. The weapon has been removed from the school site. At no time did the administration feel there was any real threat to the students or faculty at any of the campuses. Law enforcement also confirmed there is no threat and all students and staff are safe. Elmore City-Pernell administrators are cooperating with local law enforcement as they continue a precautionary investigation on this situation. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any concerns. I can be reached at 580-788-2565. As always, the safety of our students and employees remains our top priority. We had a lockout at the HS this morning. This is not a cause for concern and is a part of our operating procedure at ECPHS. The lockout merely kept students in class and delayed a class change while we conducted a sweep of the parking lot and school grounds using a K-9 officer. At the conclusion of the sweep, the lockout was lifted and the school returned to normal routine. The sweep is a part of a cooperative relationship between the Elmore City-Pernell School District and the Elmore City Police Department. The goal of this sweep is to search for illegal narcotics, weapons, or other contraband. Such sweeps are conducted at random and with very little advance notice. The safety and security of our students is a top priority. Internet and social media rumors of any other situation that may have occurred at the high school are false, misleading, and irresponsible and should be discounted.

Because of unforeseen scheduling problems caused by our girls playing in the district softball tournament at Ninnekah, we have been forced to move the date of Homecoming. In the past, these softball games are played earlier during the day, but this year the schedule is such that our girls will play at 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm on Thursday night, Sept. 26, the night of the parade. On Friday, Sept. 27, our girls have the possibility of playing at 2:00 or 4:00 pm which would make it impossible for them to get here for coronation ceremonies. Because of this, Homecoming has been moved from Sept. 27 to Oct. 11. The homecoming parade will take place on Thursday, October 10th at 7:00 pm. We will still have a home HS Football game the night of Sept. 27 vs. Dibble. Kickoff is still scheduled for 7:00 pm.
